How to Find Your Model Number

Need Help Finding Your Model Number? The images below highlight the most common locations where appliance model numbers are typically located. Because model number placement varies by manufacturer and model, we recommend checking all of the locations shown to ensure you obtain the complete model number.

Range/Stove Model Number Location

Inside the broiler drawer opening on the frame of the appliance. Along the inner edge of the oven door or door frame when the door is opened. Under the cooktop surface on older models with a lift-up burner top.

Dryer Model Number Location

Along the inner edge of the dryer cabinet opening when the door is open. On the left or right end cap of the control panel on certain models. On the rear panel of the dryer, particularly on older models

Refrigerator Model Number Location

Along the interior wall of the refrigerator compartment, either on the left or right side. On the upper interior section of the refrigerator cabinet.  On the left or right interior sides of the crisper drawers on certain models. Near the kickplate or lower front frame on some older models. On the rear exterior panel of the refrigerator, particularly on many LG and Samsung models.

Important: On some refrigerators, the model number displayed inside the cabinet may be missing the final revision or suffix numbers. For the complete model number, including all ending characters, check the manufacturer's label on the rear of the appliance. This is especially common with certain LG and Samsung models.

 

Chest Freezer Model Number Location

On the side access panel, if your freezer is equipped with one. On the rear exterior panel of the unit. Important: Model numbers located inside the freezer cabinet may be incomplete and may not include the full suffix or revision numbers.

Upright Freezer Model Number Location

Along the interior wall of the freezer compartment, on either the left or right side. On the upper interior section of the cabinet near the door opening. Behind or beneath storage baskets, shelves, or drawers on certain models. Along the door frame or cabinet frame when the door is open. Behind the kickplate or lower front grille on some models. On the side access panel, if equipped. On the rear exterior panel of the freezer. Inside the compressor compartment on some older models.

Dishwasher Model Number Location

Along the inner edge of the dishwasher door when the door is open. On the left or right side of the door frame opening. Along the top edge of the door frame. Behind the lower kickplate or toe panel on some models. 

Top-Load Washers

Under the lid on the left, right, or rear portion of the tub opening. Along the lid opening frame beneath the washer lid. On the underside of the lid itself. Behind the control panel on certain older models. On the rear panel of the washer. Inside the cabinet near the upper rim of the tub opening.

Front-Load Washers

Along the door opening frame when the door is open. On the inner door frame or door jamb. Behind the washer door near the hinge area. On the side wall of the door opening. Behind the detergent dispenser drawer on some models. Along the upper interior cabinet opening.
